The Intermediate Managing Authority (IMA) of Mainland Greece was set up with the Joint Ministerial Decision 9771/EYS/1125/29-2-2008 of the Ministers of Interior and Economy and Finance (FEK 470/B/18-3-2008) and is intended to manage actions of the Operational Programme of "Thessaly – Mainland Greece - Epirus, 2007-2013", which are within the administrative boundaries of the Region of Mainland Greece.

IMA of Mainland Greece has, among others, the following responsibilities per Unit:

Unit A: Planning and Evaluation
Unit B: Monitoring and Management of Acts
Unit C: On-site verifications
Unit D: Planning - Support
